Web-Slinging Rockers Launch
New Media Services to Entertainment Industry
New Business
Run by Award-Winning Experienced IT Executives will bring
Industry-Leading Interactive Online Services to the Australian
Arts, Media and Entertainment Market.
MELBOURNE,
Australia (January 31, 2003) -
PiXEL iNK MEDiA (www.pixelinkmedia.com)
today announced the launch of a complete range of interactive
services for the Entertainment industry in Australia, and
beyond.
The new online services
launched today are detailed at www.pixelinkmedia.com
and arrive on the back of the recent partnering of two of
the country's most experienced talents in the online music
sector; Paul Miles and Mano Stephan.
"We're delighted
to bring our combined services to such a creative, fun and
important marketplace," said Paul Miles. "The Internet
is said to be a place for either saving time, or wasting time.
We recognise the large volume of people who turn to entertainment
as their escape from the days' turbulent times.
"We are also
aware of the need for artists and entertainment organisations
to connect with their audiences via frequent, memorable experiences.
PiXEL iNK MEDiA was created to provide the industry with cost-effective
and high-quality online services to meet this need."
The pair has also
separately spent their fair share of years as performing and
recording artists, before focusing their talents on the online
medium as their preferred stage.
As Executive Producer
of a global multimedia music project, Miles is a past winner
of the Asia Pacific Information & Communications Technology
Award in the Arts/Media/Entertainment category. The pages
of his acclaimed rock web site, Chronological Crue, have been
viewed more than 2 million times in the last few years alone,
and his works have been consulted by US music networks MTV
and VH1 for production of various TV shows.
His Internet journey
began way back in 1994, when he conducted extensive studies
into emerging technology for electronic publishing, electronic
marketing and online business as part of the Australian government's
World's Best Practice Demonstration Program. The following
year Miles led the very first company in Australia providing
Internet design services to become quality certified to ISO
9001, before three years of managing Web Solutions and Online
Applications production projects at OzEmail, Australia's then-largest
Internet Service Provider (ISP).
In re-counting the
grass-roots of PiXEL iNK MEDiA, Miles said, "It was just
after my band finished playing the Big Day Out a few years
ago. Mano called me out of the blue with some ideas on another
business opportunity, which sowed the seed that one day we
would combine forces in this way, without a doubt."
The creative design
expertise of Mano Stephan has previously shaped many online
projects within the Australian music industry, including radio
stations (TT-FM and Austereo’s FOX-FM), record labels
(Universal, BMG, Mushroom, Shock), retail (Sanity) and music
television (Channel V).
When asked what makes
for the best artist sites, Stephan said, "Having delivered
promo web sites for Foo Fighters, to Custard, to mega British
boy-band 5ive, and every flavour in between, I know it really
comes down to a few key traits. They have to be attractive,
interactive, compelling and memorable."
